DJ Drama stayed true to his name when he stopped by the Breakfast Club. Turns out he and DJ Envy had important issue to clear up.
It all began when DJ Drama called out DJ Envy for tapping away on his phone instead of giving his full attention to the interview.
After remaining silent for more than half of the interview, DJ Envy finally speaks on why he's upset with Drama.
Years ago The Breakfast Club reached out to DJ Drama to put together an exclusive Gangsta Grillz mixtape. As everyone puts effort in to to get the project together, DJ Envy hears through the grapevine DJ Drama pulled out of the project.
"Charlamagne was reaching out to artists. Yee was reaching to artists. I was reaching out to artists to get a bunch of songs done. Then all of a sudden, tapes not being done anymore. No call, no word, no nothing. I'm like damn, not Dram. Then I hear -Well, Dram can't do that tape because if he do the tape, another radio station won't play his record. I'm like, Damn, my n*** can't call me and tell me?"
Charlamagne and Angela Yee quickly had The Breakfast Club Court in session to help the two sort things out. DJ Drama had no problem hearing DJ Envy's side and offered an apology.
"I wasn't in a position to do that [ignore radio politics] because I got banned, period. When the situation came for that mixtape, I was also put into another situation, I had to listen to my record label. ... I didn't know Envy felt a way about that and I apologize for that."
